I'd have to wonder these things are firetraps just as prone to burn fast as wooden railcars.

I remember Charlie Smallwood telling me "blinker" doors(the kind on Muni's 1100 series from St. Louis)were banned after a bad fire IIRC in Chicago and passengers were trapped.
