"Good ol John" seems to be convinced the UP dropped
the ball somehow. No way would I ever defend UP,
but UP had nothing to do with the cars reaching the
maximum age limit specified by AAR/FRA regs.

And if "Good ol John" had bothered to use the search
feature, he would have found the discussions on this
topic from last year that would have answered his
question.
