Everyone on this thread is so eager to bash Trump that they are overlooking the real problem which the author of the Railway Age article, quoting the MTA Chair, calls the "transit industrial complex." Bottom line is that the cost of megaprojects always spirals out of control. This is true of the Big Dig, the Bay Bridge east span, East Side Excess, CHSRA, BART to SJ and Gateway. This problem pre-dates the Trump administration and it will continue long after he is gone.
