The line to Escondido has the NCTD "Sprinter" diesel light rail service during the day between Escondido and Oceanside, where Sprinter trains connect with Amtrak "Pacific Surfliner", NCTD "Coaster" and Metrolink services. The Watco trains operate at might after the Sprinter calls it a day.
