Bechtel and SP were interconnected as S. D. B Sr.was chair of the SP holding Co and Jr a director.

P-B-Tudor-Bechtel were the consortium formed to design and manage the building of the system. Early on. Pillsbury,Madison, & Sutro were engaged as counsel, but when BART began to have issues, PMS quit as counsel, remaining counsel to Bechtel. Source--I was at the BART Board mtg when PMS withdrew.

I'm sure someone at PATH still believes the standard guage but way too short wheelbase cars and way too sharp curves which limit bioth speed and capacity were good choices in 1905.
