New Acela tour @ Alstom

Amtrak NEC President shares some insight on the progress of these new great trains:

I just really really really hope after these new sets are pressed into service, Amtrak overhauls the original Alstom Acela sets into Northeast Corridor NON-Acela service to free up Amfleets and ACS64s.

The Original Acelas after their overhaul could be pressed into Northeast Regional, Metroliner, Keystone or other electric Amtrak services. After the overhaul, they would be good for at least another 15 years (2035-2040), then Acela 3's could be ordered to replace the Avelia sets.

Then (2035), Avelia (Acela 2) sets overhauled and reassigned to replace the former Acela 1s and and a couple pair of original Acela sets into Museums and retire the rest (maybe use a few of the original Acela sets into CAHSR MOW service by 2035?

Just some ideas that techs could discuss.
