Golden Gate Transit gets new diesel hybrids from Gillig

I saw one in service today - they appear smaller and lighter than the MCI's. Quite a bit of tech stuff in the rear interior visible from the street. I dunno the details of the powertrain - is there a tranny? Can it operate on pure diesel?

I would not be surprised if Muni ends up with something like this to handle hills somewhat. Still a diesel at heart.
