Coos Bay

I spend the weekend in Coos and had the following observations.

It appears everything south of the swing bridge is moribund. The GP mill appears closed and only a center beam and CBRL 3876 are in the CB "yard". The Spit was a different story . Lots of centerbeams and chip and box cars were present Albany Eastern 1807 and 5935 were hooked to a 15 load/12 empty train on what I believe was the line to South Port lumber. Roseburg lumber is loading chips nearby too.

A motor car trip passed through town also. Interestingly one of the operators told me on the trip to Coquille they noticed some tie replacement work in certain areas--anyone know why?
