... may have just gotten their wish. 7.1 at 8:13 this evening. That mainshock yesterday just became a foreshock because its aftershock got too big. 7.1 is enough to cause some damage some distance away, perhaps as far as Mojave and Edwards, and probably triggered a few rockfalls on Tehachapi. No word yet on damage/casualties (too early for that) but it doesn't look good for Ridgecrest/China Lake/Trona.

USGS getting reports showing intensity IX near the center - basically destruction with many buildings collapsed.
