There were many different formulations of "Pullman green". Some appeared "green", some were various shades olive green, others tended toward the brownish side. Having purchased "Pullman green" from a dulux jobber who mixed it from a Dupont mixing card which had the notation "Boston and Calumet regions of the Pullman company; FWD Corporation" on the back, and knowing that the green of GN's orange and green paint scheme was "Pullman green", GM used a more brownish version for it's recreation. Tint and hue also has to do with batching and the pigments available then which went off the market around 1995 (such as yellow chromate).
