And as Sammie can affirm, it doesn't take much for an operator with a strong will to abandon a line to drive off all the business. All kinds of tricks to pull to put the rates so high, the shippers just call in the trucks. I've seen it happen all to often in my years in this business. Sometimes these guys are called on it (like with the Towner Line in Colorado), but many times not.
