On of the designated steam crew shills today claimed they
left Cheyenne hours late due to a water leak. Wonder why
they didn't find that leak yesterday while playing around
in the yard?
Also claims the cars were loaded cement cars. So when did
anyone start shipping bulk cement in hoppers east from
Cheyenne? Or west, for that matter? All cement from the
mill at Laramie goes to Denver for transload.
Oh, and most of the delay he blamed on dispatching. Another
way of saying they missed their scheduled departure and thus
missed their "slot" Since it is a slow run to Sidney with
multiple stops, there is no way a competent dispatcher would
let this slow-moving, multi-stop circus out ahead of hotter
freight trains.
The dispatcher will get even for that, eventually.
