What does a person committing suicide by train have to do with SMART's operating practices? Traveling too fast? How fast do you think they should be traveling?
People commit suicide all the time along the Caltrain line. Do you believe that they travel too fast for operating conditions too?
You like light rail operations and people have been hit an killed by them too. Are their operating practices bad too?
The reasons that people use trains to kill themselves is they are predictable. They are accessible, have a defined path and are unable to stop in a short distance. Other forms of transportation won't work. Airplanes are hard to get in front of and cars are unpredictable (they can swerve or slam on the brakes).
