You are really out of touch with reality to say that. Today, much of the nation and the media is commemorating the moon landing. The "cultural-Marxist left" (whatever that is) is not interfering with anything.
Another example - In 2013, the 200th anniversary of Commodore Perry's victory in the Battle of Lake Erie was observed. It was a major component of the the Tall Ships Festival held in Erie, PA that year and the Post Office issued a commemorative stamp marking the occasion. Nothing from the "cultural-Marxist left." The Tall Ships Festival returns to a number of Great Lakes cities again in 2019 for a celebration of the region's maritime heritage. Who is rewriting anything?
Third example, going back a few years earlier was Ken Burns' PBS series on the National Parks.
[Railroad content - several railroads such as the Great Northern, Northern Pacific, Southern Pacific and Union Pacific] promoted establishment of and travel to Western National Parks].
The creation of the National Parks was definitely a positive aspect in this nation's history. Nothing I recall from that great series represented history being ignored or rewritten by the "cultural-Marxist left."
As I look back 50 years to Taylor Roundhouse on July 20, 1969-Why the hell isn't Moon Day a National Holiday?
