Fox and Drudge, like everything else, must be taken with your brain turned on. And with your brain turned on, it's clear that Fox and Drudge are among the few outlets where one can see and hear what the three networks, CNN, MSNBC, and others are often withholding. One recent example. Late last week the big story, again broken by Drudge and others, was a 2001 Obama radio interview where he supposedly said how disappointed he was that a government program hadn't done enough toward the redistribution of wealth. That night, ABC reported the story as being bogus and that Drudge had distorted Obama's words. ABC aired a clip from Obama's interview in which he used a word like "distributional" or "distributory" in some unrelated context. My kids, both sharp cookies, were watching and I said, "they're lying, they're holding back." Sure enough, in less than an hour, on Fox or CNN, we heard a longer segment of Obama's interview, and he indeed referred to distribution of wealth as mentioned by Drudge. I don't always appreciate or agree with every view or story Drudge and Fox present, but personal opinion becomes moot when they simply publish the factual record as it is (or was). Don't like the message? Don't blame the messenger.
