The wye at the OERM Museum, where it connects into the new structure would appear to be of sufficient radius. The track from the connection to the museum maybe too light to run the big baby over, I agree. But, I've seen folks move some heavy stuff on some pretty light and raggedy track, really, really. slowly and carefully.

There is or was another wye a few miles up from Perris, that I was told many years ago, could be used to turn it. I don't know if that is even in service, now.

So, no, none of that would be easy to fix in the short run. But, that is why we really need more "strategic" vision, at these institutions, and more cooperation, among and between stakeholders, to do some of these things, when opportunities arise, and take advantage of them...

I understand that the lack of the connection, has already prevented folks from moving equipment to OERM...?

This seems like something very "doable", when the Perris Chamber of Commerce, using the link to the museum and station, to promote business and attract tourists to the museum and "historic" Perris, asks the local Congressman, getting them TEA "enhancement" funds, to put in the connection, matched by a donor campaign through the museum, to provide the required "local" matching funds....

One result I do guarantee in life, is that one will never get, what one doesn't ask, or try for....
