I have in hand a copy of Trains Magazine dated March 2013.

1. On page 12-13 is an article about Iowa Pacific taking on the Santa Cruz & Monterey Bay Railway. On page 12 is a photo of a Dec 9,2012 "Train to Christmas Town" passenger train; the train being headed by an F unit in the middle of a Santa Cruz street down by the boardwalk.
In the article Ed Ellis is quoted, in a positive manner, on the future of the railway.

2. On page 15 of the same issue is a column by Fred Frailey extolling the work of Hunter Harrison, the CEO of Canadian Pacific and Canadian National, and his efforts to improve railroad operations. The title of the column is "Sons of Hunter, come see us in America". Frailey had nothing but good things to say about Harrison and his visions for the future.

We all know how things turned out.
