I'm in North Carolina. Historically, North Carolina's economy was based around textile manufacturing, tobacco, and furniture manufacturing. All three of those have collapsed dramatically. There is a bit of high-tech here now, but to link the "well-being" of manufacturing and agriculture to support for McCain doesn't make sense to me in NC. Look at some of the rust belt states that went for Obama like Ohio and Indiana. Both are manufacturing and agriculture, but they don't seem to have injested the right Kool-Aid.
