This is a free trip on August 30th from the Roundhouse to Oak park and back for members who can bring one guest. Train leaves at 4 p.m. sharp. PLEASE support the Oregen Heritage Railraod Foundation! Fuel is not cheap nor is the upkeep on the most famous 4-8-4 on the planet. Go to OHRF.org and become a member and score two tickets, one for yourself and a guest. Park you car someplace else and take Tri-met rail transit. This will be the only operation of the engine until the Santa trains starting after Thanksgiving. Your membership allows you to volunteer to help run this very important fundraiser for three weeleends and see the 4449 operate as well. I am a member and my Son Ben and I drive up from the Bay Area every December and spend the last weekend of operation and volunteer for all shifts for the two days.
