In Southern California most lumber seem to go by rail to wholesalers in places like Riverside.

Trucked from there. Some local yards buy deals in carload but I doubt if anyone is gonna build a spur, so they transfer to truck to deliver to the jobsite.

Your area is close to Oregon so that's trucking distance. Canasian stuff is likely going to a wholesaler somewhere.
