What's the end game?

So he's proposing ending the Gold Line at the Pomono Metrolink station? Only cutting 3.3 parallel miles east to Claremont? Extending the Redlands-SB DMU service to Pomona as a local? If that would finish double tracking the Metrolink line from Pomona to SB it makes a lot of sense. DMU locals that would allow adding more local stations to mass TOD housing and business. SB-LA trains could run faster and maybe with fewer stops.

But if they don't have the $450 million(!) for just 3.3 miles, would they have enough to finish the Metrolink double track and cover the operating losses?
