In the June 1940 SP timetable #230 passenger speed from Niles to MP 34.5(1 mile west of Sunol) was 35 MPH. From there to MP 52(beginning of Altamont grade) was 50 MPH. By 1947 these speedes were 25 and 35 MPH repectively. Does anyone know if there is a crew change for trains originating in Roseville and where it would occur?
