OR ! "Ma and I went for a walk the other evening." The railroad doesn't look like a railroad.
The derailed cars are just gathering dust. Now, under the SP, the Zipper, #373, went into the ditch at Capitan in 69.
There were cars billed as mty but were full of Budwiser beer. The "GM Army" showed up and put guards around the whole mess that was their property. NOBODY was allowed past that line, even officers were given a bad time. GM went thru and torched every engine, transmission & rear end. Nothing could be reused.
When it was done, GM left and the Coroner was then allowed in. (There was a railfan riding the caboose to San Jose that was cut in) and didn't come thru the derailment or fire.
It all depends on how the carrier wants to write it off.
