Sounds much the same as the 15 years we lived in Alexandria, VA. I watched Alexandria and Arlington chase off every bit of remaining industry to build "condos and coffee shops" as I lovingly call these mixed-use developments every city seems to welcome with open arms at any expense and loss of good tax revenue/good paying jobs.

Pour me another latte for $8/hour. Sure wish you could afford to live within 30 miles of your job, unless you share an apartment with 8 other people.
