AFAIK these lots have been privately owned since the beginning of Petaluma and the original Stratton(IIRC)survey of the 1850's. There were small manufacturing outfits there and grain-feed operations over the years along what was then Main St.

I am sure pressure from ABAG-MTC is involved in the gentrification fill-in along with the usual greedhead motive. Hundreds of more autos to further cram the residential back streets and arterials.
