Re: Dumbarton is obsolete... And, what is so terrible about a direct connection into the City?

The reality is that the Dumbarton bridge is obsolete and needs to be torn down and replaced, probably as or more cheaply, by a new set of tunnels under Dumbarton narrows. And, then there will be no need to go to San Jose, to go "back" to Sacramento with "direct" service from the City. Simply go out the wye, under the Bay and the Dumbarton narrows, over Altamont, and on to Livermore, Tracy, Stockton, Lodi (we need a stop for BobR and wineries), and on to Sacramento.
Hell, you could even run those "evil" commuter trains, that Mouse hates, under Dumbarton and directly north or south to SF or SJ. Doing that, you could bring many more folks directly to their jobs in "evil" Silicon Valley and directly on to the Peninsula, and directly into the City.
Of course, from their comments, this is just thing that the Mouse and these other pathetic pus oozing loser trolls hate. These trolls apparently hate real useful rail passenger services, in some of our most congested corridors, to and from "evil" places like Tracy, Merced, Modesto, and even "eviL' Fresno, for the folks who are, right now, stuck in gridlocked traffic, who actually work hard, and pay those taxes.
