Wee-o-wee-o-wee-oo, Little Green Men alert! The engine across from the depot in MTZ is a switch engine, one of the 1200s. The SP donated it to the City of Martinez in the latter 1950s, and it sat in a park in Mtz until being moved to its present location around 1985 or thereabouts. The SP donated steam locomotives to various cities, including three 2400s, one to Oakland, another to San Mateo, and a third to San Jose (or Santa Clara), with no scrapyard involved in any of the transactions.
