Several years back UP tore out most of the north end of the old Mt Shasta siding and installed a new switch for the MR connection in the mainline a couple hundred feet north of where the MR tracks swing into the yard. The south switch into the yard has been gone for years. Unless the switch has very recently been pulled it should still be there. Technically MR is still a common carrier as the line between McCloud and Mt Shasta has never been either subject to service discontinuance or formally abandoned.
