15 Amtrak trains a day, each way, between Sacramento and Oakland, with 7 extending all the way to San Jose and one to Auburn, on UP of all railroads. In some places, that would be called mass transit not just Amtrak. And yes, that includes the Starlight; CapCorridor really does need one more train providing San Jose at a reliable late evening service - maybe start the last eastbound of the night at SJ rather than Oakland, and extend the last train from Sac to SJ or provide a Night Bus? - and given the service improvements of the last few years that might even be imaginable now.
