Replacement of this 30 mph. single track segment of LOSSAN, though Del Mar, with a 90/110 two track high speed tunnel is already underway. This would take the trains off of the bluffs, which are unstable, and have insufficient space next to pricey homes, to be double tracked. We're looking at doing this for "rational" reasons, with real benefits to society, like better rail service in a congested corridor...

You're right though, society should not be spending that kind of money, to keep really stupid people from being really stupid.... It isn't cost effective.....
