Eureka, Did I Find It?

I was closely studying some aerial photographs of Eureka last night. These were top quality aerial photos, probably sourced from military intelligence maps bought at extremely high prices hopefully not from black market sources. My area of intense study was Eureka, which is in our great state of California. I noticed some railroad tracks and some gray engines on the w-site near the water. These were unmistakably a railroad. Could someone with some time please research what railroad this is and from freight they carry? I couldn't find any cars so it must be their off day when picture was taken. Did this railroad connect to the NWP? Or did it go east up one of the rivers to reach Sacramento or maybe Napa, the wonderful wine-growing region?

The military intelligence maps are available for free at maps.google.com.

Thanks for helping me out I'm too busy to research on my computer and you have time on your hands to do this for me. So it's only fair.
