You asked “Yeah what ever happened to SP GP40X’s?” Well one of them, SP 7200 became TP&W 4056 used by and painted for RailAmerica. RA assumed operation of the Toledo, Peoria & Western based in East Peoria, IL in September 1999. On January 2, 2013, the STB approved Genesee & Wyoming, Inc. to purchase RA and the TP&W.

The latest photo of TPW 4056 I found was dated January 19, 2018. The unit was in Wyoming, MI (Grand Rapids, MI) still painted in RA colors and lettered for TP&W. A G&W painted unit was coupled to it.
