There was a miniature pony "factory" in Corte Madera on the NWPee. They would melt down the usable portions of mini-ponies and turn them into tallow and gelatin stuff. Smelled great although was always flying by on the freeway rarely had to deal with the stench. Unless I was caught in traffic.

This was during the mini-pony craze of the late 50's when everyone had one but the genetics were all screwy due to inbreeding for size and they were very aggressive and basically not suitable as housepets. That's where the factory came in.
