"Greetings from Palestine,
Home of 4014 & 4141
(At least for a little bit)
Here is what I was told from upper management with UP prior to today’s arrival.
4141 was a last minute stay on the consist this morning. It was going to be (and was) dropped at Palestine so it could be picked up later for a KC bound consist. This was to happen tonight/early morning.
4141 is now entities to Mid-America in KC for its prep work before going to the Bush museum.
Where ever 4141 was set to go “didn’t have any room” to accept her, hence the last minute change to take her N to Palestine.
Ed Dickens personally conformed this to me when I was talking to him.
Per another member of the 4014 crew, 3985 is officially now retired, until another UP Prez says spend the money and overhaul. 3985 will stay in the roundhouse in Cheyenne.
844 & 4014 are now the 2 active steam engines in the UP program."---message from a friend
