No, not a bar car.
Its one they used every Friday afternoon for the run out of the City to San Jose. It would route via the Farallones.
Most all the east coast commutes used to have a bar car out of NYC.
I worked #126 & #141 one Friday and we had a pvt car next to the engine. We would run long end forward to Monterey, run around the train with the one motor and ready to head back on #141 the next morning. You had a great "view" out the "back" or rear engine.
Those were the days. As you can see, those hogheads didn't mess around they flew over the road. By the time you got back to the SJ roundhouse, you could feel the heat coming off the wheels of those motors.
