In September 2008, Albany & Eastern #1750 was drying its new paint while sitting
outside the paint booth at Coast Engine & Equipment Company in Tacoma, Washington.
This GP9 was built in February of 1956 for the Texas & New Orleans Railroad as
their number 3859. After a number of owners, it became the Albany and Eastern
#3859. However, AERC renumbered the unit to 1750 before it was repainted in
Tacoma.
