We to saw a couple of cars there in early September this year as we were passing through.

Additional Alturas/Modoc question; in google earthing the line from Alturas to K-Falls, I see three abandoned wyes at Ambrose, Hackamore and Perez. The one at Ambrose looks like the tail track might have gone somewhere at one time. But the other two, Hackamore and Perez seem to just be wyes for turning. What was the purpose of those three wyes? It just seems odd to have them so close together.
