Donner Track Realignment

I've been looking at a bunch of YouTube videos lately, as well as looking at aerial pics on Google Earth of the trackage over Donner. However, I'm curious about something. If you look at some locations, for example, the curve approaching Yuba Gap from the west, or even the curve before the bridge on the approach to the west side of Shed 10, its evident that the remaining track was realigned, presumably to lessen the curvature by any little amount. I'm curious, was this done by the SP when the ripped the track out in 1993? Or was it done by the UP sometime later? I'm looking for answers from those who have had boots on the ground up there for a long time, and not guessers.

Thanks
