If they still haven't restored it to running condintion in 27 years of effort, they probably aren't going to get the job correctly done. Proper cosmetic restoration and display at a well run museum is probably the best course of action.



But, Caldwell said, “The last thing anyone wants would be something like solvents not being handled properly and we burn down the building.”


A valid concern. Didn't something like that happen with the Albuquerque restoration? Was the fire before or after they derailed the engine? Derailed because of incorrect math and improper materials?
