Gold Hill Historic District

I love Virginia City. Having said that, there is not a single person in that town who can get along with everyone else. I have high hopes and little expectation that VC will make itself into the professional tourist destination the train needs.

I know this next part may sound goofy, but here goes. Consider this scenario. The Commission builds a wye in the Crown Point Fill (nee Ravine). One member of GHHS with venture capital connections gets his buddies to build the trackside attractions no one else wants to build in the Crown Point Fill. They put in a PF Chang's, a Taco Bell and an El Torito in, along with a high quality gift shop in the Gold Hill Station / museum.

I know this sounds crazy but it just might work, give the people a train ride and PF Changs, and Gold Hill will take over from VC as the premiere destination on the hill.

Just kidding? Or blasphemy? I guess it's just food for thought.
