I did some more reading on it.

Yep, the E. Coli comes from cattle farm runoff and gets into the water used to irrigate lettuce fields. Romaine lettuce is shaped like an open cup, so it catches the contaminated water.

Notice they can never know what field the contaminated lettuce came from. The packaging is totally vague: Imperial Valley or Yuma. Huh? Probably farmers (and their ^%$#ing lawyers) intentionally keep it vague, so no blame comes back to them.

With Trump in power, regulatory bodies like the USDA have been weakened too. Business over the common good.
