No, she had no whistle when removed from the park, for restoration to pull the Freedom Train. In fact, the whistle she carried through-out her early career was borrowed from the late Joe Crumbly, which was the actual whistle from SP&S #700. When the 700 was eventually returned to service, her original whistle was returned. A whistle from an NP articulated, owned at the time by the late Richard P. Yager, was then installed on 4449, which she carried for many, many years, until Martin Hansen came up with the current "real SP GS Class whistle".

If so, where is it now?

I have no idea. Probably in the hands of some long lost collector.
