The whole "let's restore a 4000" was conceived by Ed. 3985 was deemed unsafe by Ed just to promote his 4000 "show". Remember when 3985 was parked "unsafe" shortly after pulling the 2010 Circus Train it still had like 2 years left on boiler time.

Anybody remember the first lie told by ED far as restoring 4014?? That was an anonymous donor was putting up 50% of the funds and volunteers would be used to keep costs down. That's the only way he could get the outrageous costs (which he was well aware of) approved by Omaha. Few weeks after the deal was made with Rail Giants the anonymous donor withdrew their offer. Google it as Trains Magazine ran a story on it.
