Re: It's because of pinheads.... But, in this case, maybe not so much the local Nimby's, as much as the poor leadership at SMART.... But, it can be fixed

Oh the mysterious secret forces....
From the actual comments linked to in the article, this was the sinister City of Larkspur...
This was a foolish decision, as many other posters have noted. But, given the poor management of this project, it is an interesting link, as it gives cover to SMART management, and contains absolute bulls#it (about walking time) to justify it. I'm going to stick with the real reason, not mentioned, in the linked comments, being cost, and the fact that SMART was, once again, pushing a poor option because of cost. The linked comments are a good lesson in how to manipulate that process, to allow a cheap and dubious management and Board to avoid making difficult decisions. Which has been, and still is, SMART's biggest problem.
Ultimately, this poor connection is all "on" the poor planning and management of SMART implementation, using the excuse of pointing to "local" opposition... to cover their asses, when actually this was about the additional 40 million, and the extended schedule for condemnation and construction, that SMART didn't want to spend, to do this right.
Fortunately, with another 60 million, this can be fixed.
As to these pinhead Nimby's, are they really any different than some of these pinhead trolls?
