I take trip to Nevada every June with friend Kirk Baer. You can drive to the site on the south side of the river with a decent high clearance vehicle. Have camped several nights right above the old derailment site on the south side of the river. I have many photos from the area but much has changed over the years as previously stated. The SP/WP even changed the course of the river in the process of the line changes. You can see much of the old right of way in the area. If interested in photos of the area contact me.
