At the time I worked in SOMA, there was still a line coming up 2nd Street, with spurs into several buildings along the way. At Folsom, it did a lazy-S from curb to curb to get into Hawthorne for Peerless Coffee (remember them? almost the worst coffee you could get, despite the name, and the area often smelled of burnt coffee when they were cooking). I don't recall seeing any activity on the line (in the early 1980s) but the tracks were still there. Long gone now, of course.
Did State Belt work those tracks, or SP? There was a small yard on the Embarcadero at the foot of 2nd St. at the time.
