Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading somewhere that the Red streetcars were originally built in New Orleans at the streetcar shops because nobody had built streetcars in decades. They were originally built either in the late 1980's or early 1990's. As for the mechanics (trucks, motors, etc.), I don't recall where they came from. Hope this helps.
