A follow up...I was born in Silver Spring (singular unlike Florida) in 1944 and my dad took me to this station scores of times. SAME light standards, note car number board on the one in the foreground, same chipped paving over red brick with concrete edge. Remember baggage room door on this side of the building. They sold Christmas trees here on the busy siding - right off railcars from Maine with a burn barrel for warmth. In the distance on the right is higher cyclone fence where they rebuilt the underpass for Georgia Avenue = D.C. line is just 3/4 of a mile to the right past the Krispy Kreme (5 cents each) shop. Seems strange to see CWR where the old B&O streamliners to the west would stop....fond memories and a kiddling love of trains!
