Just a question to speculate on: Why isn't the Oakland Police Department patrolling BART stations more heavily?
Would BART have to pay an off-duty police officer the overtime rate to stand watch at a station? And possibly BART doesn't want to do that? Are there private security folks at stations? Just speculating here.
I'll have to see if the answer is given in some of the news reports.
