The popular ABC News morning show Good Morning America took to the rails September 15-18, 2008 through six northeastern states and Washington DC to interview local residents at several stops en route to learn about the viewpoints of citizens regarding the economy and other key issues prior to the presidential election. All four news anchors from the Good Morning America show, Diane Sawyer, Robin Roberts, Chris Cuomo and Sam Champion, traveled aboard the special train. The Amtrak-equipped special was powered by Genesis P42s Nos. 75 and 76, and had eight Superliner cars in the consist, plus Juniata Terminal’s restored historic cars Warrior Ridge and former Pennsylvania Railroad business car No. 120, Pennsylvania. A modified Amtrak cab-control/baggage car with two white domes on its roof to transmit electronic signals was coupled behind the diesels. On the last day of its four day journey, September 18th, the "Good Morning America Whistle Stop Tour" special departed Harpers Ferry, WV and headed east to Washington Union Station over CSX’s ex-B&O main. This photo was taken as the GMA special passed the historic B&O station at Point of Rocks, MD.
